Privacy Policy
Effective October 7, 2026
Stepper is a step counter and fitness app for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by GoBitzy ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information Stepper uses and why.
In short: your health and activity data stays on your devices. Stepper has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we never sell your data. The only information that leaves your device is what's needed to check your subscription and, if you turn it on, to show local weather.
Apple Health data
With your permission, Stepper reads your steps, walking and running distance, active energy, flights climbed, workouts, workout routes, heart rate and workout effort from Apple Health. It uses them to show your activity, goals, streaks, charts and insights. If you record a workout in Stepper, it saves that workout (and its route) to Apple Health.
- Health data is processed only on your iPhone and Apple Watch. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.
- Stepper keeps a summary of your activity on your device so screens load quickly. It is deleted when you delete the app.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, and never shared with data brokers.
- You can change or revoke access at any time in the Health app or in Settings › Privacy & Security › Health.
Motion and fitness
Stepper uses your iPhone's motion data to keep today's step count up to date while the app is open. It stays on your device.
Location
- Workout routes: while you record an outdoor workout, Stepper uses your location to map the route. The route is saved to Apple Health on your device.
- Weather: if you turn on Show weather, Stepper sends your approximate location to Apple's WeatherKit service to get the local forecast. Apple's privacy policy applies to that request; we don't receive or store your location.
Reminders
If you tap Remind me in the Coach, Stepper adds that workout to the Reminders app, with your permission. It doesn't read your other reminders.
AI Coach
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, the Coach's answers are generated by Apple's on-device model. Otherwise the Coach uses built-in rules. Either way, your questions and data stay on your device.
Notifications
Stepper's reminders and celebrations are scheduled on your device. No notification service of ours is involved.
Purchases
Apple processes all payments; we never see your payment details. To check whether you have Stepper Pro, Stepper uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives a random app user ID (not your name or email), your purchase history for Stepper, your App Store country, basic device and app information (such as the iOS and app version) and your IP address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Widgets and Apple Watch
Stepper shares your summary and settings with its widgets and its Apple Watch app on your own devices, so they can show your progress. Nothing is uploaded for this.
Children
Stepper is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices and rights
- Deleting Stepper removes everything it stored on your device. Your data in Apple Health stays under your control in the Health app.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access or delete the purchase information described above. Contact us and we'll help.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and its effective date. If a future feature (such as an online leaderboard) needs new information, we'll describe it here before it launches and ask for your permission in the app.
